Internship at Nyink

The past three months we have been given the opportunity to welcome 2 interns into the Nyink team. Luc is a student learning to become a assistant manager international business and Willem who is learning within the marketing and communications sector. They are both student at the Graafschap College in Doetinchem.

Both interns tell a part about their time here at Nyink. Curious about the tasks they did, continue reading!

Luc:
Finding a internship during a pandemic, it’s not easy. I’m happy I found one here at Nyink which is great to gather experience for my subject assistant manager international sales.

The atmosphere is so pleasant and Nyink does things larger companies wouldn’t, like Döner Thursday and Fries Friday. The assignments get are easy but you have to think straight on order to do them correctly. Being an intern means you can expect some things like grabbing coffee and cleaning the lunchroom. Sometimes you’ll be treated like a handyman, at Nyink this is not the case. You will be able to look into the foundation of the company and really help making the company more successful.

Considering the size of the company, mainly consisting out of younger individuals, you work with everyone at least once. There is always something to do, even if you don’t know what, just ask anyone. There is always time to work on the assignments school gives you.

Willem:
I was surfing the internet looking for a company where I can get an internship fitted for my school sector. Then I came across Nyink, it was the perfect place to experience the job with a young but experienced team.

I decided to send in an application and immediately received an interview invite and was told I was accepted. It didn’t take long to get my first assignment to update the English version of the website and to start writing blogs for the online channels. The assignments give me a high responsibility, like applying labels to the stands in the stockroom. To get to know the company better I sometimes help the guys in the production, doing this helps me write the blogs in high detail. Everyday is different and that makes it fun. I am also given the time to work in the assignments given to me by school, it keeps me updated on both school and the job.

Luckily we don’t have to say goodbye to these gentlemen! They are coming back next year in their second year of college from August until February two days a week.
